A Bit About Me…
Hey there! I’m Megan, a recent Advertising and Public Relations grad from Grand Valley State University. As a passionate and creative person, I thrive on exploring new ideas and using visually compelling marketing to make a positive impact in my community. I am driven by my passion for communication and connection, constantly seeking ways to align marketing strategies with a bigger purpose.
With experience in social media, content strategy, and customer service, I bring a collaborative mindset to every project. I enjoy working in teams, where diverse perspectives help shape the best and most creative solutions. My adaptability and focus on visual design allow me to craft messaging that not only inspires reach, but engagement as well.
I believe that marketing should do more than sell products. It should uplift, exemplify transparency and authenticity, and bring people together. I’m excited to contribute my skills to projects that align with these values and collaborate with others who share a vision for impactful marketing.
Art and Design
My experience in social media marketing, paired with my background in art, allows me to approach campaigns with creativity and a strong sense of visual storytelling. I believe that design isn't just about aesthetics, it’s a powerful tool for creating impactful messages that resonate with audiences and drive engagement.
Social Responsibility
Another core value of mine is social responsibility. I believe companies have a duty to not only sell their products but to also make a positive difference socially, economically, and environmentally. It’s not just about doing the right thing, it’s actually good for business too. Marketing works best when businesses are honest, act with integrity, and go beyond what’s considered “ethical.” Marketing impacts skyrocket when we can “talk the talk” AND “walk the walk”!
Community
Lastly, community is at the heart of why I do what I do. Marketing and art are incredibly social practices, they need a community to receive them to have impact. Through my role in social media marketing for Experience Grand Rapids, my studies at Grand Valley State University, and my experiences volunteering in Grand Rapids, I’ve grown to appreciate the vibrant, local community, and have seen firsthand how promoting within the destination positively affects our beautiful community. I hope continue to foster a career that upholds these values, and prioritizes giving back and working collaboratively to uplift the communities we serve.
